Congratulations to our 2025 Graduates!

We asked our graduating students about their plans following graduation and the most important thing they learned at CSU. Here are their responses.

Charlotte “Charlie” Connolly

I’ll be at Loyola University in Maryland. It’s okay to lean on and get support from your community.

Kelsey Ennis

I’m going to complete a PhD at the University of Bergen in Norway. Research is rarely a linear journey; it is shaped by unexpected challenges and discoveries that ultimately foster growth, resilience, and the development of a strong scientific mind.

Jacob Landsberg

Going to BU to pursue my PhD in Environmental Data Science. How to take a research project from inception to completion and generally about the field of atmospheric science!

Ashley Dwyer

I’m going to Boston University to do my PhD in Earth and Environment. Learning to ask for help from the incredibly knowledgeable people in this department.

Daniel Hueholt

I am joining the faculty at Colorado College as an Assistant Professor in the Environmental Studies & Science Program starting in August! I’ll be moving to Colorado Springs at the end of May. The most important thing I learned at CSU was to work in a sustainable way while challenging myself and accomplishing my goals!

Sabrina Cohen

I am staying for the PhD. I have learned the power of working in a group. The cliché “the sum is greater than the parts” has proved to be true!

Kat Humphreys

I’m returning back to the DC area! Currently, I’m looking for a position, but I’m hopeful. How to nod confidently in meetings when I only understood 50% of what was said. Jokes aside, I learned to trust that I belong in the room.

Nicole June

I will be doing a post doc with Pacific Northwest National Lab. Everything I’ve learned in my time here has been valuable: from how to make compelling figures, to writing clear papers, and to balancing life outside of research.

Mitchell Gregg

I will be remaining at CSU. Understanding when a project is truly complete, and that adding more content just to increase length is almost always a detriment.

Yiyu Zheng

I’m going to become a researcher at Zhejiang Meteorological Sciences Institute. The more I know, the less I know. I come out with more questions than I started this program. I guess that’s normal if you poke really deep into science :D.

Allie Mazurek

I am working as an Engagement Climatologist in the Colorado Climate Center (here at CSU)! The importance of being surrounded by a strong support system, which I feel fortunate to have found here at ATS!

Casey Zoellick

I’ll be going to the Air Force Institute of Technology at the Wright-Patterson AFB in Ohio. How to formulate an actionable plan to address a research question.

Leif Fredericks

I’ll be continuing on to the ATS PhD program. The best resource is having people around you who are interested in the same questions you are.

Charles Davis

I’m staying at CSU for my PhD. The atmosphere gets colder as you go up even though warm air rises.

Nick Falk

I will be a postdoc in van den Heever Group. How to be a scientist!

Gabrielle “Bee” Leung

I’ve accepted a faculty position at the University of Wisconsin–Madison in the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences. Starting this August, I will be an Anna Julia Cooper Postdoctoral Fellow while I set up my research group. I start as a tenure-track assistant professor in Fall 2026. Science doesn’t just happen — it relies on the hard (and often invisible) work of many people and consistent investment from the society we live in!

Ryan Gonzalez

I am staying in Fort Collins taking some time off to spend with my family. The most important thing I learned from my time at CSU is that taking care of yourself outside of work is just as, if not more, important as the work itself.
