New study identifies health risks during unconventional oil and gas production for those living near wells

Postdoc I-Ting Ku and Professor Jeff Collett contributed to a new study from Environmental Defense Fund finding that even oil and gas production that uses the most stringent emissions reductions technologies poses health risks to nearby residents. The team included members from EDF, School of Public Health and Ajax Analytics. They studied the cumulative risks posed by volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and ozone to communities living along Colorado’s Front Range.
