INCUS researchers present at AMS’s 21st Conference on Mesoscale Processes
In June, researchers working on the NASA INCUS mission presented at the American Meteorological Society’s 21st Conference on Mesoscale Processes. Mesoscale atmospheric phenomena, such as thunderstorms and squall lines, occur at scales roughly between 1-1000 km. CSU researchers Jennie Bukowski, Itinderjot Singh, and Peter Marinescu organized a special INCUS session at the conference and presented their research.
The upcoming INCUS mission will provide the first ever observations of convective mass flux and its temporal evolution within deep convective storms, along with anvil cloud properties, throughout the tropics and subtropics. These observations and the suite of developing INCUS products will enhance our understanding of the mesoscale processes associated with deep convective clouds.
Thanks to each and every one of the amazing researchers working on this important mission for sharing your work.
