    Objective
  • The objective of the course is to provide a working knowledge of climate variability on timescales ranging from weeks to decades. Topics will include the structure and dynamics of large-scale patterns of internal atmospheric variability, tropical and midlatitude ocean-atmosphere interactions, stratosphere/troposphere coupling, observations of climate change, simulations of climate change, and polar processes (time permitting).
