B.S. in Engineering Physics - 2000 - Queen's University - Kingston, CA
Career Overview
Colette Heald received her B.S. in Engineering Physics from Queen's University in Kingston, Canada and her Ph.D. in Earth and Planetary Science (Atmospheric Chemistry) from Harvard University in 2005. At Harvard University, she worked with Professor Daniel J. Jacob on the use of satellite observations of atmospheric composition to quantify the sources and intercontinental export of pollutants. Colette spent two years at the University California Berkeley as a NOAA Climate and Global Change Postdoctoral Fellow where she focused on the sources and climate sensitivity of organic aerosols. Colette joined the CSU faculty in January 2008.
Teaching Interests
Atmospheric Chemistry

Research Interests
Long-range transport of pollution
Aerosol sources, composition, and chemistry
Biogenic and anthropogenic influences on chemistry and climate
Colette's research focuses on using observations of the atmosphere from all scales (in situ to satellite) with global models to understand the composition and chemistry of the troposphere.
