AAAR Student Chapter
The American Association for Aerosol Research (AAAR) Student Chapter serves as venue for young scientists at CSU to meet other aerosol scientists, discuss ongoing research in a productive and relaxed manor, participate in education outreach activities, and much more. We have hosted the Young Scientist Symposium on Atmospheric Research since 2011, which annually brings young scientists from CSU, CU-Boulder, Denver Univ., Univ. of Wyoming, NCAR, and other institutes in Northern Colorado to present their ongoing research. Every other week, we meet off campus to discuss peer-reviewed journal articles led by members of the group as part of our Journal Club Series. We are also active in educational outreach by volunteering during the Little Shop of Physics Open Houses at CSU and NCAR's Super Science Saturdays. We have visited and toured many science-related facilities in Colorado, such as the CSU Engines lab and the Storm Peak Laboratory. Finally, the group has adopted trails along the Poudre Valley Canyon to maintain during the summer months since 2010.
AMS Chapter - FORTCAST
FORTCAST will provide an outlet for Colorado State University students to interact with their peers, professors, and other members of academia interested in the study of the atmosphere, ocean, and other parts of the climate system, as well as their impacts on society. Activities such as educational outreach events, journal clubs, seminars, and colloquia will provide opportunities for students to share and expand their knowledge within and outside of the atmospheric sciences. In addition, these activities will encourage students to establish professional relationships with others in related fields of study.
